YALI Peace Campaign

Mobilizing Youth for Peacebuilding

With Cameroon facing significant crises, the YALI Peace Campaign sought to
address issues of hate speech, youth violence, and radicalization through youthled
peace initiatives. The campaign mobilized and empowered over 2 million
youths across the country, leveraging grassroots efforts and regional leadership.
A dynamic Peace Project Leadership Team, including Mandela Washington
Fellows and other YALI Alumni, drove the initiative in all 10 regions of Cameroon.

Impacts

Reduced hate speech and youth radicalization in crisis regions.

Empowered young leaders to take active roles in peace initiatives.

Created a platform for sustainable youth involvement in peacebuilding efforts.

Key Highlights

Workshops: 10 regional peace workshops conducted nationwide.

Youths Empowered: 500 youth leaders trained to lead peacebuilding efforts.

National Event: The YALI Peace Symposium mobilized over 400 youth
leaders, U.S. Embassy delegates, and government officials.

Awards: Mister and Miss YALI Peace Cameroon crowned during the
symposium.
